What if tomorrow’s avatar was named Zoe?
On March 18th, the BBC published an article titled “Is this interactive avatar the face of the futre?” featuring a video with images from project Zoe, a virtual talking head developed by researchers at Cambridge. Zoe can express a series of emotions including joy, anger, and fear by changing her voice and facial expressions. To do this, the actress playing Zoe was filmed over a period of hours expressing various emotions, facial expressions and tones of voices. One can imagine many different applications of this project, in games and in “humanization” of relations both personal and professional.
