What if your body were the remote control?
At the opening of the E3 Expo in Los Angeles, Microsoft officially presented its movement captor, Kinect for XBox. As the above report from USA Today shows us, Kinect (which was originally referred to as the “Natal Project”) plugs in directly to an Xbox 360 and contains a camera, audio captors and a movement-sensitive technology that can record some 48 points on the human body. Equipped with voice and facial recognition technology, Kinect should be on the US market as of November 4th. Although this represents technological progress, will the Kinect benefit humanity? Some are critical (see video below). Who knows, we may come to the conclusion that the classic hand-held remote control allows us to keep our dignity while we play games! 😉
