What if we took ourselves less seriously?

Canadian agency Johns St gives us the above video, an excellent parody of just about every agency case study ever.  The brief? An 8 year old’s birthday party. Buzz words like “big idea”, “below the line media” and “word of mouth buzz” are thrown around, juxtaposed with images of kids playing pin-the-tail on the donkey and opening presents.  The “birthday movement” was a success: 0 temper tantrums were thrown!

Another sucessful parody, is the series “Things real people don’t say about advertising”, because who BUT advertisers talk about “user experience”, “brand values” and segmenting?  Here’s to a little tough love!
