What if we created a dis-loyalty card?
This entry was suggested to me by one Jérôme Lavillat, (@jérôme_lavillat, on Twitter) a fourth year student at Sup de Pub.
London barista Gwilym Davies was unwilling to settle for the title of the Best British Barista of 2009. For the 3rd consecutive year, he brought home the top honor at the World Barista championship in Atlanta. If this wasn’t enough, Gwilym also wants to prove that his coffee is “the best in the world” with a particularly disruptive idea: a dis-loyalty card!
Here’s how it works: If you order coffee among a selection of 8 high-end, East London coffee bars (where Gwilym’s coffee shop is located), and if you get your card stamped from one of these establishments, Gwilym will give you one of his famous coffees for free!
This is not a scheme to sell more coffee. Gwilym simply wishes to share his love of coffee by encouraging customers to discover all the different kinds available. He wants to turn his customers into connoisseurs who can appreciate his coffee for what its worth, while comparing it to the competition. So, pick up your dis-loyalty card at Prufrock Coffee, 140 Shoreditch High Street and go discover the best cafés in East London. Don’t forget to make your last stop at Prufrock for a complementary drink served by the best Barista in the world!
The card is free, but the buzz is priceless! 😉
