“Mourir auprès de toi” (dying by your side) is Spike Jonze most recent shortfilm. This winning, beautiful movie has made the rounds at film festivals in Cannes, Locarno, and Athens, and is now available online.  The movie tells the love story between Mina (Dracula’s awaiting victim), and the skeleton of MacBeth– both character’s are the cover art on books in the famous Shakespeare & Co bookstore.  The movie is done in stop motion and the beautiful marionnettes are designed by the bibliophile designer Olympia Le-Tan.

This isn’t the first time that Spike Jonze has given life to inanimate objects.  Two years ago, he made the beautiful short film “I’m here” for Absolut featuring robots (see below).
