What if physics were an esthetic?

Do you know the ferrofluid sculptures?  In the below video Sachiko Kodama, a Japanese artist, creates a work of art with no special effects, based only on purely physical effects.  These are dynamic tin sculptures that react to electromagnetic fields.  When there is no magnetic field, the tower is simply a spiral, but as soon as the field is activated, the tower takes on sculptural shapes, uniquely by the force field without any additional motor.  The whole thing is put together musically through the principal of “meta data”, meaning prerecorded musical elements.  Having two towers allows each one to interact with the other.  When physics becomes an esthetic, a metaphysical space is opened!
