What if augmented reality took us back in time?
I saw this video on Metal Potential, Rob Schwartz’s fantastic advertising blog. The Museum of London has just released a free app that allows users to see what the streets of London looked like in the past. Users can either enter in a location on the map of London, or use the phone’s GPS and take a picture of the area they are currently in. An image of the street from the past (either a photograph or a painting) will pop-up. Users can click to get more historical information about the history of the particular area of town. I think this is
a great way for the museum to make use of its huge archive of photos and paintings of the city of London throught its long history. When will this come out for Paris?!
